BATON ROUGE - Police have confirmed that a body was discovered on Spanish Town Road Monday.

According to the Baton Police Department, a body was found in the 1400 block of Spanish Town Road around 11:30 a.m. The body was reportedly found in a wooded area near the cross of Spanish Town and N 14th Street.

Police say they are investigating the incident as a suspicious death at this time.
