Boy dies at BR hospital after Lafayette-area train crash
BATON ROUGE - A 12-year-old boy died Christmas Day following a train crash earlier in the week.
Chase Day died at the hospital. He was transferred to Baton Rouge from the Lafayette area after the vehicle he was riding in was hit by a train. Day was the fourth person to die as a result of the crash, KATC.com reported.
Day's twin brother remained in the hospital. His condition was unknown.
The wreck also killed a grandmother, Phyllis Leblanc, 70, and 12-year-olds Trinity Schmidt and Jayla Daigle.
