Arizona woman killed in Livingston Parish motorcycle crash
DENHAM SPRINGS – State Police say an Arizona woman died after in a motorcycle crash in Livingston Parish Friday morning.
According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened shortly after 1 a.m. on LA 16 south of LA 1026 in Livingston Parish. Karen Romero of Phoenix, Arizona was killed.
Investigators say Romero was driving westbound on LA 16 when she failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and ran off the left side of the roadway. Her motorcycle crashed into a ditch and she was ejected.
Romero was wearing a helmet but still suffered fatal injuries. The Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced her dead at the scene.
LSP said impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash. A toxicology sample was taken for analysis.
