April has worked in broadcast news for nearly 30 years, with a career spanning from Alaska and Colorado to the Carolinas. Raised in Easley and Greenville, South Carolina, she earned a BA in journalism from the University of South Carolina.

Today, she co-anchors 2une In every weekday—a program named the Best Large Market Morning Show in 2026 by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. That same year, she helped WBRZ win a national Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the Smitty's Supply explosion in Roseland, Louisiana. Her previous honors include a 2021 regional Emmy for Best Morning Newscast in Denver, a 2023 regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Innovation for mayoral election coverage in Jacksonville, Florida, and multiple regional Best Anchor awards.

April moved to Louisiana to be closer to her father and loves exploring the Pelican State. When she isn't waking up early for the morning news, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, yoga, gym workouts, trying new restaurants, and going on adventures with her dog, Daisy.
