After flood delays, repairs to Sherwood Forest Boulevard to resume
BATON ROUGE - City officials say the ongoing repairs to Sherwood Forest Boulevard will continue now that the product needed to complete the work has arrived in Baton Rouge.
The project has been delayed for weeks because high water along the Mississippi River and Arkansas River prevented asphalt from being brought here by barge.
The city announced Wednesday that the material needed to finish repaving the roadway has made its way here and been unloaded from a barge.
Transportation & Drainage Director Fred Raiford says prep work will continue Wednesday and Thursday. Asphalt work begin this weekend, as early as Friday. It should take two weeks to complete and another few days to stripe.
