GONZALES - Two weeks after high school senior Mehki Darville was shot to death at a Gonzales gas station, three people have been arrested in the killing.
The Gonzales Police Department said Monday that those arrested included two juvenile suspects and 18-year-old Jamal "Mal" Holloway.
Holloway was caught Friday after he was spotted climbing through the bedroom window of a home in Sorrento with two unidentified juveniles. Police said the juveniles seen with Holloway were not the same ones arrested in the killing.
According to Ascension Parish Jail records, Holloway was booked for contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, possession of marijuana, possession of a stolen gun and as a principal to second-degree murder.
Police said they expect to make more arrests.
Mehki Darville was shot Nov. 11 outside of the Fuel Smart on South Burnside Avenue. when he was caught in the middle of a brawl between two groups of juveniles that started with a "social media feud." Officers said he was not involved in the fight but was trying to mediate.
