Keep the umbrella close by as warm, muggy air continues to fuel daily rounds of showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. A cold front will arrive on Easter Sunday, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures and dreary conditions to end the weekend.

Thursday to Saturday: scattered showers and thunderstorms

Easter: cooler and damp

Early Next Week: drier with some sun

Tonight & Tomorrow: You will notice the humidity tonight as low temperatures only dip into the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies. On Thursday, a weak atmospheric disturbance will move across the region. This feature will provide an extra nudge and cause showers and thunderstorms to be more widespread than what we have seen so far this week. Though severe weather is not expected, a few storms could produce heavy rain and gusty winds during the afternoon and evening hours. If you are heading out, keep an eye on Storm Station Weather App, as these storms will develop quickly once the day warms up. Expect a high temperature of 84 degrees.

Up Next: Friday and Saturday will offer more of the same, with highs in the mid-80s and scattered showers and thunderstorms favoring the afternoon hours. However, the weather pattern will shift significantly into Saturday night and Easter Sunday. A cold front will push through the region, bringing a batch of rain and thunderstorms. The heaviest activity looks to occur Saturday night, but because the timing of this front is still a bit uncertain, rain may linger into the morning or even afternoon on Easter. Prepare an indoor backup option in case of straggling showers. Temperatures will fall considerably behind the front, and temperatures are expected to stay in the mid to upper 60s throughout Sunday.

Once the front passes, the start of next week looks quiet and cool. Some clouds may stick around on Monday, but more sunshine is anticipated for Tuesday and Wednesday with afternoon highs in the 70s. The most noticeable change will be the crisp mornings; low temperatures will drop into the upper 40s and low 50s, finally allowing a chance to turn off the air conditioner and open the windows.
