Two-year-old hit, killed after running into highway
ROSELAND – A two-year-old died overnight, State Police revealed Thursday morning, after being hit by a car on La. 10 near La. 1058 in Tangipahoa Parish during a church event.
State Police identified the child as Kaleb Dyson of Kentwood.
Investigators said Dyson was with his mother and other members of a church choir in the parking lot of Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church when the child ran through the parking lot and into the street. Dyson's mother tried to stop him, but the child was able to maneuver into the street where he was hit by a passing vehicle.
No charges were filed, state police said.
