LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Trelun Banks scored 21 points with 7-for-14 shooting to lead Southern to a 68-58 win over Wyoming on Thursday night.

Adrian Rodgers added 14 points plus eight rebounds and Tony Nunn had 10 points for Southern (6-2), which controlled the glass 45-25 and never trailed.

Banks hit back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the first half to give Southern its first double-digit lead of the game, 20-8. Wyoming (5-4) battled back, closing the gap to 27-26 with a 3-pointer from Josh Adams at the end of the half.

But it was as close as the Cowboys would get the rest of the way. Southern opened the second half with an 8-0 spurt, then broke away with a 10-2 run capped by Banks' layup to make it 58-43 with 4:58 to go and held a double-figure advantage the rest of the way.

Adams led Wyoming with 25 points.
