Plaquemine ferry closed this weekend due to staffing shortage
BATON ROUGE - The Plaquemine ferry will not make its usual trips across the river this weekend due to a lack of workers.
The Department of Transportation and Development made the announcement Friday, saying that the ferry would not be back in service until Monday.
The ferry will keep its normal weekday hours of operation, 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
