Pikachu statue erected in New Orleans park
NEW ORLEANS – A Pikachu statue mysteriously appeared in a fountain in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans. The statue comes in the midst of the Pokemon Go game craze in the past few weeks.
The statue was erected sometime Sunday morning and was made to look like it is bronze to match the fountain. The fountain, and now statue, is located in a small park near the intersection of Terpsichore and Prytania streets in New Orleans.
It is unknown who placed the statue in the park, but it pays homage to the Pikachu creature in Pokemon Go, a location-based, augmented reality game.
