Man from Kentucky wins $1 million prize after buying Powerball ticket in Ama

BATON ROUGE – A lucky man from Kentucky is Louisiana's latest Lottery millionaire after he claimed a $1 million Power ball prize from the June 25 drawing.
David Henderson of Hawesville, Kentucky, bought his winning ticket at Phillips 66 right off the Mississippi River in Ama. Henderson works about aboard a boat up and down the Mississippi and often purchases lottery tickets on his travels.
He received $700,000 after federal and state taxes were withheld. The store clerk who sole Henderson his ticket will receive a one-time selling bonus of $10,000, one percent of the prize.
"This is very exciting," Shawna Henderson, David Henderson's wife, said.
"We're going to pay off some bills and take my mom to see the ocean," she said.
