LSU collecting donations for hurricane victims

BATON ROUGE – LSU is planning a donation drive for victims of Hurricane Harvey over the upcoming weekend.

The school will collect items for victims of Hurricane Harvey on Sunday, September 17 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Winn-Dixie parking lot on the corner of Lee and Burbank Drive.

The LSU football 18-wheeler will be on location at Winn-Dixie on Sunday and will serve as the drop off point for donated items.

Donated items will be distributed to victims in southeast Texas including residents of Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange.

At the request of those in need, LSU is asking for the following items to be donated on Sunday:

•         Bottled Water

•         School Supplies

•         Cleaning Supplies

•         Garbage Bags

•         Towels and Wash Cloths

 

Please note that any donated items must be new and still in the original packaging if possible. LSU will not be able to accept any donations prior to noon on Sunday.

The items will be transported to southeast Texas in the LSU football 18-wheeler.
