WASHINGTON - The pollster Gallup says Donald Trump is about to enter the Oval Office with a far lower approval rating than his three predecessors.

Trump's approval rating is 42 percent.

The previous lowest was George W. Bush, who won positive marks from 59 percent during his transition to office. Bush, like Trump, also lost the popular vote in a tightly contested race.
