DA Moore issues letter to president, AG supporting US Attorney Walt Green
BATON ROGUE - East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore issued a letter early Sunday afternoon stating his support for US Attorney Walt Green of the Middle District of Louisiana.
Green is one of 46 US attorneys that were appointed by President Barack Obama. Now, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked for the 46 Obama appointees to resign.
The letter in part reads:
"Walt is a unique individual who has been endorsed, recommended, and nominated by both democratic and republican transition teams, including your current team. Walt is a loyal public servant who, no doubt, will tender his resignation as requested. We ask that his resignation not be accepted. He is a leader, one of the best and brightest of our times, who we all desire, regardless of our own individual political ideologies, to see remain as our United States Attorney."
