UPDATE: Police have identified the victim as 56-year-old Phillip Mazone, Jr. 

BATON ROUGE - Officers are investigating a shooting that left one dead on the 2300 block of Plank Road. 

That shooting occurred around 12:30 Monday morning. 

BRPD says an unknown male was found dead from apparent gunshot injuries.
