PHOENIX, ARIZONA- A man pleaded not guilty to decapitating his wife and two dogs where he also mutilated himself.

Kenneth Wakefield was arraigned on Tuesday and spoke in a quiet voice when his only comments were to identify himself before a judge. The bodies were found in Wakefield's apartment when a neighbor came over to check on his wife, Trina Heisch, and found Wakefield missing his left forearm and an eye.

Wakefield had spent ten years in a state mental hospital previously after being found guilty, except insane when he he stabbed a family member.
