WILSON - The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that occurred late Saturday night.

According to Sheriff Jeffery Travis, 61-year-old Lonnie Washington was found dead in an apartment at the Wilson Manor Apartments off of Highway 19.

It appears Washington was stabbed to death, Travis said.

No arrests have been made at this time but the sheriff says he has a good idea of who killed Lonnie Washington. That suspect has not been arrested, and the sheriff has not released a possible motive in the murder.

"I can't comment on the specifics of what's going on until we have time to quantify everything and bring it together," said Travis.

Even though the sheriff won't identify a suspect, residents say they know who killed their neighbor and can't wait until that suspect is behind bars.
