1 injured in fire on Balis Dr.
BATON ROUGE- Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire that sent one person to the hospital early Thursday morning.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, firefighters responded to the fire at a duplex in the 2400 block of Balis Drive just after 2:30 a.m. When they arrived on scene they found one size of the duplex engulfed in flames.
Firefighters said the flames spread to the attic before they were able to contain the blaze. One resident was taken to the hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.
Authorities estimate that the fire caused $125,000 dollars worth of damage.
