Motion filed to revoke bond for man accused of trying to run over deputy
BATON ROUGE- The District Attorney's Office filed a motion today to have two prior bonds revoked for a suspect accused in yet another crime.
Eddie Isadore was arrested Tuesday accused of trying to run over an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Deputy. Shots were fired at the intersection of Sherwood Forest and Coursey. The suspect was out on two different bonds, at the time he was arrested Tuesday. One bond he posted was for a drug arrest. The second was a $300,000 bond posted for an attempted murder charge.
"You have someone who was out on multiple bonds, given a chance, and a second chance and again now he's on a third set of allegations," District Attorney Hillar Moore said.
That's why the DA's Office took quick action Wednesday, filing a motion to have Isadore's bond revoked.
"The court signed an order holding him until she (judge) can hold a hearing to revoke the two previous bonds," Moore said.
This week, Moore talked about a risk assessment tool that is used in other cities. It's a questionnaire that gets asked to offenders. That questionnaire helps determine whether or not there's a good likelihood that the offender may continue to commit crimes if they are released. Until something changes, some in the law enforcement community believe this cycle will continue.
The bond hearing is scheduled for November. Another bond was set for the incident last night, at just over $100,000. Moore said Isadore won't be released until that November hearing.
