NEW ORLEANS - Water spilled out of the pool and onto the deck of the Carnival Valor as the ship listed in the Mississippi River on Sunday.

Carnival said that although “movements of this nature can occur during normal navigation," they’re reviewing the circumstances.

The cruise line said the crew responded immediately and offered medical assistance to a few guests who requested it.

Michael Bell, a travel agent and passenger on board who took videos of the incident, said he was at the pizza restaurant on board when the ship began leaning on its side and water began flooding the pool deck into the buffet area. Then an announcement was made for medical attention on deck 10.

"The captain had to make a hard right turn because a cargo ship lost power and It was sitting there in the dark," Bell said on Facebook. "He saw it at the last second. It felt like the ship was gonna tip over. Hence the water from the pool flowing out."
