MANHATTAN BEACH — Former Tigers Taryn Brasher and Kristen Cruz won their third straight Association of Volleyball Professionals Manhattan Beach Open.

The 2024 U.S. Olympians and top-ranked women's pro beach volleyball team in the world became the first duo to win three consecutive AVP Manhattan Beach Opens since Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings won four straight from 2005 to 2008.

The duo swept all six of their opponents and took each of the 12 sets by an average of 4.7 points.

Brasher and Cruz started the final day by beating Maddie Anderson and Alaina Chacon 21-18 and 21-15 in the semifinals. They finished the weekend by defeating Kelly Cheng and Megan Kraft 21-18 and 21-16 in the final.
