ROBERT - Deputies are trying to find out what happened to a man whose arm was mangled in a roadside incident just off Interstate 12 in Tangipahoa Parish. 

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said the man was driving a truck, hauling a trailer and was pulled over on the shoulder of the road at the Robert exit on I-12 on July 17. 

A driver found the man underneath his trailer, with his arm stuck under a tire. Deputies said the man was trapped for several hours and his arm was severely injured. 

TPSO said it's not clear what happened. The door to the man's truck was open, the transmission was in park and items like his wallet and phone were on the center console, untouched.
