DONALDSONVILLE — A 48-year-old was killed after a crash along La. 308 near the Ascension-Assumption parish line, Louisiana State Police said. 

Around 7 p.m. on Monday, state troopers were dispatched to a single-car crash along La. 308 near La. 943. 

According to troopers, Tunisia Claiborne of Napoleonville was driving south on La. 308 when the car drove off the roadway and went into a ditch before striking a tree. The car then overturned, troopers noted. 

Claiborne was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Impairment is suspected, and routine toxicology samples will be taken and submitted for analysis, LSP noted.
