Teen shot dead during New Year's Eve party in Gonzales; suspect arrested
ASCENSION PARISH - Police have arrested a man accused of shooting a 19-year-old male to death during an argument at a New Year's Eve party.
According to the Gonzales Police Department, 21-year-old Adrian Liborio was arrested early Tuesday morning after shooting 19-year-old Jose Artunez to death on Darla Avenue.
Witnesses told officials three people became embroiled in an argument during the party when Liborio shot Artunez to death, then ran a second victim over with a vehicle. The victim was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and remains in stable condition.
Liborio fled the scene, but was later apprehended by Gonzales police.

He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and faces charges of second-degree homicide and attempted second-degree homicide.
