BATON ROUGE — The Southern University System Foundation is hosting its annual SU Give Day on Aug. 27, with a goal of raising $25 million for Southern University campuses across Louisiana.

The all-day virtual event will stream live on Southern's Facebook page and serves as the final push for the Foundation's "Are You In?" campaign.

The Foundation is calling on alumni, students, faculty, staff and supporters to contribute to five campuses: Southern University and A&M College, Southern University at New Orleans, Southern University Shreveport, Southern University Law Center and Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center. The Southern University Laboratory School is also included.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be hosted by Cumulus Media on-air personality LaTangela Sherman, live from the Valdry Center for Philanthropy on the Baton Rouge campus.

The day kicks off with a Chancellor's Session at 9 a.m., featuring conversations with the leaders of each Southern University System campus.

At 10 a.m., the Southern University at Shreveport campus gets its own live session, followed at 11 a.m. by a feature with Howard White, president of the Southern University Alumni Federation and Darrin Dixon, executive director of the federation.

The Southern University at New Orleans campus takes the spotlight at noon, with the Southern University Law Center session following at 1 p.m.

Student panels are scheduled for 2 p.m., featuring representatives from across the system as well as students involved in campus life.

At 3 p.m., a major new commitment supporting the Southern University System will be announced live from the Valdry Center for Philanthropy.

The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center gets its own session at 4 p.m., highlighting its work across Louisiana.

The day wraps up at 5 p.m. with a closing appeal from Southern's Student Philanthropy Council.
