Police detail charges against women responsible for gunfire inside Baker Walmart
BAKER - Gunshots inside an East Baton Rouge Walmart triggered panicked calls to law enforcement Friday afternoon.
The situation unfolded around 3 p.m. inside the Walmart in Baker, according to Police Chief Carl Dunn. Authorities said no one was hit.
Chief Dunn said the gunfire stemmed from an argument inside the store, saying that two women were taken into custody.
Police identified the suspects as Tykia Tate, 20, and Lakeisha Turner, 22. Tate faces charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace. Turner's charges include illegal discharge of a weapon and criminal damage to property.
Both women were issued summonses.
