Man sentenced to 45 years in prison for car wash burglaries
PRAIRIEVILLE – A man responsible for several Ascension Parish car wash burglaries last year was sentenced today to 45 years in prison, according to the District Attorney's office.
Hubert Bourgeois, 53, was sentenced after several similar burglaries of car washes in Ascension and East Baton Rouge parishes last year.
Bourgeois confessed to committing burglaries at AAA Car wash in Prairieville, Bay Wash Car wash on Airline Highway and Sail Away Car wash on Hwy 44 in Gonzales.
Ascension Parish deputies also located a smoking pipe with an electric grinder, believed to be used for smoking marijuana, when Bourgeois was initially arrested.

Bourgeois was booked on charges of eight counts criminal trespassing, eight counts simple criminal damage to property, eight counts simple burglary, illegal carrying of weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia, prohibited acts, fugitive warrant from another agency and two bench warrants for driving under suspension and no seat belt.
