BATON ROUGE - A rear-end collision with a semi left a man dead Saturday.

The early-morning crash happened on I-10 West just after the Highland Road exit.  State Police said Patrick Joseph, 45, of Baton Rouge, ran his pickup into the back of the trailer of an 18-wheeler.

Joseph died, authorities said.

Joseph was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a morning news release by State Police.

The 3 a.m. crash is still under investigation.
