BATON ROUGE - A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his mother multiple times during an argument.

According to deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office (EBRSO), the incident occurred last Tuesday (November 16) when Dondi Terrell Lee Jr. and his mother were in a heated argument at her South Harrell's Ferry Road apartment.

Deputies say Lee's father was also in the apartment at the time of the fight and reported hearing Lee cursing and yelling.

Lee's father went on to say he next heard several gunshots fired in the kitchen; he went into the kitchen and saw his wife on the floor, in a pool of blood.

Lee's mother sustained gunshot wounds to her abdomen, arms, legs, and face.

After finding his wife shot and bleeding, Lee's father said he wrestled the gun away from his son.

According to an affidavit, during their fight, the weapon was discharged several times, leaving Lee with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say Lee has a criminal history of armed robbery, aggravated kidnapping, simple robbery, and illegal use of a dangerous weapon.

The affidavit adds that Lee is not legally allowed to carry a firearm due to a 2015 conviction, and he's currently on supervised probation.

After the November 16 incident, Lee was jailed on charges of attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies, domestic abuse aggravated assault, and illegal possession of stolen firearms.
