Man arrested for a dozen principle to attempted murder charges after chaotic shooting at Gonzales Park
UPDATE: The Gonzales Police Department released a new statement Tuesday regarding an arrest tied to a chaotic shooting that left one dead and eight injured.

On the evening of Sunday, Oct 8, shortly after 9pm Gonzales Police Officers were dispatched to multiple shots fired with multiple victims being hit at Carver Park off of Tobey St in Gonzales.
As a direct result of the incident at Carver Park, Investigators continue to conduct interviews from parties of both sides of this altercation and execute warrants.
Due to an unrelated Shots Fired incident in Assumption parish, Tyedrius A. Parker is now in law enforcement custody and is charged as follows for his role in the October Carver Park incident:
1 count of principal to First Degree Murder, and
12 counts of Principal to Attempted First Degree Murder.
The Gonzales Police Department is working with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on the transfer of Parker into Gonzales Police Department custody for booking on the charges above.
An abundance of physical evidence has been collected in this case. Investigators remain focused on developing a prosecutable case. Persons of interest continue to be developed and GPD anticipates numerous arrests.
Given the size and scope of this incident, Gonzales Police Department Investigators remain committed to arrests that provide the District Attorney with the best prosecutable case, ensuring the responsible parties can and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

GONZALES - A late-night shooting at a park in Ascension Parish left several people hurt and led to a deadly car crash as people were fleeing the area.
The Gonzales Police Department said the shooting started around 9 p.m. at Carver Park off Tobey Street.
At least four people were shot at the park. A car also crashed as people were fleeing the area, leaving two others hurt and a woman dead.

While it's unclear what led to the gunfire, Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux says the shooting likely stemmed from a feud between two groups.
"This might have been an argument that ensued maybe Friday night, and it was a continuation of that argument," Arceneaux said.
Police believe multiple weapons were fired, but the shooters have not been identified as of Monday.
