Fire, bridge inspections create heavy traffic on I-10
BATON ROUGE – Traffic officials said drivers traveling on I-10 East from Lafayette should expect heavy delays Wednesday morning.
The Department of Transportation and Developement closed I-10 East at LA 3000 near Ramah due to a vehicle fire. It reopened within 15 minutes, but traffic was already backed up three miles.
Traffic officials also said that inspection operations on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge is also causing congestion on I-10 east. DOTD said a congestion has formed on the four mile stretch between mile markers 123 and 127.
