Fire breaks out at restaurant under renovation
BATON ROUGE- Firefighters from the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a fire Tuesday at a fast food restaurant.
The fire took place at a Wendy's located at 5322 Essen Lane on Tuesday. Authorities said Friday, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
The cause of the fire was originally reported as an electrical malfunction in the rear of the building.
Foul play is not suspected.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire was visible in the rear of the restaurant. The building was closed due to renovations being done. Due to the renovations, no content was inside.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire in the rear of the building.
