BATON ROUGE - One person was placed into custody after failing to stop for deputies attempting to make a traffic stop.

An East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office spokesperson said the chase ended at a car dealership on Sherwood Forrest Blvd. just after 8 p.m.

Officials said deputies received information about an armed robbery at a car wash on Airline Highway which occurred around 7:30 p.m. Shortly after, deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description of one used by the person accused in the robbery.

Deputies attempted to pull over the driver of that vehicle around 8:06 p.m. when the driver took off, according to EBRSO officials. The chase ended three minutes later.

An EBRSO spokesperson said the driver of the vehicle was adamant he was not involved in the armed robbery. The driver will be charged with aggravated flight from an officer. The robbery is still under investigation.
