BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney said his office won't prosecute LSU football player Davon Godchaux.

Godchaux was arrested Monday on charges related to a fight with his girlfriend. The DA's office, in a statement, wrote "based on inconsistent statements given by (the girlfriend) and her request to dismiss all charges, a change of booking was filed as to all of Mr. Godchaux’s charges."

"The primary basis for this change of booking was the inconsistent statements of (the girlfriend), the statements of Mr. Godchaux and the physical evidence at the scene," the DA's office continued.

The DA is reviewing a court summons for misdemeanor charges against Godchaux's girlfriend. About here, the DA wrote "A formal charging decision has not yet been made."

Godchaux was arrested and the woman was ticketed after the fight early Monday morning. The couple's child was in the apartment when the fight happened, so original charges were also related to the child being present.
