BAKER - The suspect in a high-profile triple murder case accepted a plea deal Monday morning.

Nakeydran Williams pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder and three counts of manslaughter. Williams received 40 years on each count to be served concurrently, meaning he will spend up to 40 years in jail.

Family members of the victims walked out of court clutching their pictures this morning. Some of them were unsatisfied with the plea. Williams is accused of killing three teenagers and wounding another at a party at the Baker Civic Club in March 2014. He was 16 years old at the time of the shooting, but will be tried as an adult.  The victims are Marcel Franklin, Kendal Dorsey and Diontrey Claiborne. 

"That's the only daughter I had," Sandra Barton said fighting back tears.

District Attorney Hillar Moore said the case will prevent families from going through a lengthy trial.

"This defendant had he been convicted of second degree murder, would potentially face 35 years incarceration," Moore said. "The manslaguhter plea saved these folks from the misery and pain."

Investigators say Javaughn Simmons was the intended target of the attack. He was also shot but survived. Police have said the party lacked supervision, since there were only two security guards monitoring between 75-100 teens.
