Bad weather may have caused fire at Baton Rouge apartment, firefighters say
BATON ROUGE - Fire at Sherwood Meadow apartment leaves $20,000 in damage, Baton Rouge Fire Department officials say. Four people escaped the home unharmed.
The fire started around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Sherwood Meadow, but investigators are unsure of the cause. BRFD said bad weather in the area is being considered as a possible cause.
Investigators said no foul play is suspected and they believe the fire is unrelated to a shooting which occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
