Suspect arrested in string of overnight gas station armed robberies
PLAQUEMINE – Multiple sheriff's departments are searching for suspects in a string of armed robberies overnight.
UPDATE: Brandon Washington, an out-of-towner, is facing one count of armed robbery in Iberville related to a string of armed robberies last week; Agencies from St. John and Ascension are expected to arrest him on similar charges in those parishes after he is booked in Iberville Parish. More will be released after lunch Monday. Check back for updates.
A suspect hit gas stations in St. John the Baptist Parish as well as Ascension and Iberville. In the robberies, the suspect pulled out a gun, pointed it at store clerks and demanded money.
Deputies in St. John said there, the robber was able to take money from the register.
The suspect linked to all three robberies is described as a black man with light facial hair and a mustache, driving a gray or silver Dodge Charger with a front hood scoop, sun roof, dark rims and spoiler.
