BATON ROUGE – Firefighters are still trying to determine what caused a two-alarm warehouse fire at 2655 North Foster Drive near Choctaw Drive from Wednesday night.

Mark Miles, of the BR Fire Department, said that the warehouse contained rubber materials inside and caused heavy black smoke. Miles says that the cause of the fire is undetermined and still under investigation.

According to BRFD, the business was closed at the time of the fire.

Crews arrived on scene to find the building fully engulfed in flames. Authorities said fire officials stayed on scene through early Thursday morning.

Fire officials said firefighters were on the scene three minutes after the first alarm. When they got to the warehouse, they issued the second alarm.

According to BRFD, the fire caused about $140,000 in damage to the building.

This is a developing story. We are working to gather more information, and we will update this story as we learn more.

It's the second fire in that area this week. The first fire started Monday, only two blocks away from this scene. Fire Officials never released a cause for that blaze.
