Final interviews for BRPD chief held Thursday

BATON ROUGE- Candidates met Thursday with the Police Chief Review Selection Committee tasked by Mayor Broome for the last round of interviews for the new chief of the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Since the release of 11 candidates' names who passed the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service exam for chief, there have been four withdrawals.

This evening Murphy J. Paul, Jeremy A. Kent, and Robert McGarner were interviewed. 

The remaining candidates - Myron K. Daniels, Sharon W. Douglas, Darryl W. Honore’ and Ronald W. Stevens - were interviewed on Nov. 16.

All candidates will be allowed to present a closing statement to the committee at the last public meeting on Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. This last meeting will also allow public comment.

After the committee has chosen five finalists to present to Mayor Broome, she will interview those candidates and make the hiring decision.
