BATON ROUGE - Halloween vandals seem to have targeted the house where a convicted serial killer once lived.

Overnight, Terri Lemoine said someone stole Halloween decorations from her yard. Lemoine lives on Burgin Road, in the home where Sean Vincent Gillis lived. Gillis is suspected of killing eight women and is serving a life sentence.

"It took us a long time to put anything out here," Lemoine said in an interview with WBRZ reporter Brittany Weiss for the Wednesday edition of WBRZ News 2 at 10:00. Lemoine said the home's history prevented her and her husband from adding anything to the yard around this time of the year until six years ago.

Lemoine created "Lorraina," a disfigured witch dressed in a bridal gown carrying a broom and a hatchet. Sometime between sunset Tuesday and sunrise Wednesday, the creation was stolen. Lemoine said the theft comes amid complaints from neighbors a few streets over about pumpkins being thrown at homes.

"I don't really care who took her, I'm not looking to prosecute anyone, I just want her back," she said. "It's like somebody taking your Christmas tree... what's the point?"

Lemoine said neither she nor other neighbors have filed police reports about the mischief.
