TANGIPAHOA — A joint state and federal investigation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Gavin Lyvers of Ponchatoula on multiple felony counts involving child sexual abuse material and the solicitation of minors.

The investigation began in September after Homeland Security Investigations received a cyber-tip regarding the uploading and downloading of child sexual abuse material on a social media platform. Federal agents traced the account to Lyvers in Louisiana, prompting the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit to join the case.

Investigators revealed that Lyvers used the social media platform to contact minors directly, soliciting explicit material in exchange for items of monetary value.

On Friday, LSP and HSI agents executed an arrest warrant and booked Lyvers into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on the following felony charges: two counts of child sexual abuse material, five counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and five counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor.

Authorities noted the investigation remains active and ongoing. Investigators are urging anyone who had contact with Lyvers or has information regarding other potential victims to submit an anonymous tip through the Louisiana State Police reporting portal at la-safe.org by selecting the "Suspicious Activity" link.
