BATON ROUGE — Inside the Ramirez home, music has always brought everyone together. This Saturday, it will divide the family between purple and gold, and crimson and white.

Bevanne and Robert Ramirez raised three music-loving sons: Parker, Roch and Ryland. While their shared talent has filled the house with sound for years, game-day in Tiger Stadium will put them on opposite sides of a football field

"It was fun raising three boys," Bevanne and Robert said. "It was always a party. They all have different personalities."

Their parents are Louisiana State University graduates and longtime Tiger season-ticket holders. Roch and Ryland play in LSU’s Golden Band from Tigerland.

Parker, the oldest, took a different path. He is a fifth-year student on scholarship at the University of Alabama, performing in the Crimson Tide’s Million Dollar Band.

"We get a lot of neighbors and friends saying, 'How could you let your son go to Alabama?'" the parents said. "And then they were excited that the two younger boys are at LSU."

The family typically splits fall weekends between Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Saturday, however, all three brothers will share the same field in Tiger Stadium, marching in competing colors.

Because Parker is set to graduate after this season, the rivalry matchup marks the first and only time all three will perform together at the same game.

"Since it's his last year in band, this is the only time that we'll all be representing our schools in the same football game," Roch said. "That's why it's so impactful."

"Us being part of the game in pregame and halftime, we get to march, and our brother gets to see it too," Ryland said.

One big question remains: How will the family capture a photo of all three brothers together in uniform inside Death Valley, where purple and gold rarely mix with crimson and white?

"We're working on getting a picture of all of them in their uniforms together," the parents said. "It'll be the only time they're all together at a game because it's Parker's last year in band."
