PLAQUEMINE — Residents in Plaquemine rallied at Monday evening's "We the People" event less than 12 hours until polls open.

The community gathered at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church to address the issues they believe are impacting people in the region.

Members of the Westside Planning Commission also read the Declaration of Independence, shared its message and worked to inspire others to use their voice this election season.

Polls open at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. For more information about candidates, click here for WBRZ's 2026 Election Guide.
