PONCHATOULA — A mock disaster drill is happening on Thursday at the railroad tracks near the intersection of U.S. 51 and Towers Road in Ponchatoula. 

The drill is for the Canadian National Railway Company as it works to strengthen "intra-agency teamwork, evaluate response systems, and ensure local agencies are fully prepared to effectively address any rail-related situation that may arise."

Tangipahoa Parish deputies said that there is no actual emergency.
