Data: $3.08B invested in downtown Baton Rouge since 1987

BATON ROUGE — Some $3.08 billion in total has been invested into downtown Baton Rouge over the past three decades, according to the Downtown Development District’s 2026 Development Toolkit released on Tuesday.

The annual Development Toolkit, launched by the DDD in 2014, offers up-to-date data and insights on downtown and serves as a resource to attract future investors, business owners and developers to Downtown Baton Rouge. It includes statistics such as investment numbers, safety, occupancy rates, tourism, events, economic impact and more.

Other highlights from this year’s report:
-Downtown property is valued six-times higher than the parish-wide average
-CBD residential occupancy is 95%
-Class A Office A occupancy rate is 81.7%
-$20 million hotel investment in the past five years
-More than 114,000 people attended the Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade
