BATON ROUGE — After three exhibition games, LSU men's basketball is turning its attention to the regular season.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the Tigers entering the opener involves RJ Luis Jr., who is not currently on LSU's roster but was temporarily cleared to play on Wednesday. Wade opened Thursday's press conference by making it clear he would not discuss the latest developments surrounding Luis.

"I'd like to talk about some eligibility stuff, but I'm not talking about that. I can't talk about that in light of what happened yesterday," Wade said. "I think I've made my stance very clear on things, and my stance has not changed. And I will be happy to talk about the 14 guys that are on our roster."

As for those 14 players, LSU finished exhibition play 2-1, but Wade said the Tigers are still working to bring together a rotation that did not get much time together during the preseason.

"We're still a work in progress as we move forward here with those guys," Wade said. "I wish we'd have had them for those first couple exhibitions, but we didn't."

LSU played its expected rotation together in the exhibition finale against Florida State, but Wade believes the Tigers still need to find the right balance between their experience and playing with intensity.

"You still got to have an edge. You got to play with some speed. You got to play with some force," Wade said. "You got to be fast. You got to be physical."

With the regular season set to begin, Wade said he wants LSU's identity to be clear when the Tigers take the floor.

"We want to be unconventional. We want to be connected. We want to be physically and mentally dominant," Wade said.

LSU opens the regular season Tuesday night against LSU New Orleans at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., and the game will air on SEC Network+.
