CENTRAL — Families gathered at Central High School today as the Central Kiwanis Club hosted its Fall Fest and Trunk or Treat.

Attending families enjoyed live music, food trucks and Halloween-themed activities alongside fully decorated fire trucks and police vehicles.

The festivities marked a major milestone for the city's long-term urban planning initiative, Main Street 2030.

"It's the first event we've done here at this location, where we have City Hall and the stadium, which is our goal with Main Street 2030," said Central Mayor Wade Evans. "We want to bring the bigger stuff here to the center of our city, so this is our first big event here outside of a game day."

"Anytime we can bring our community together, it reminds us no matter how big we get, we'll remain a small-town feel," Evans said.

All proceeds raised during the event will go directly toward local service projects across the community.
