CENTRAL — A body was pulled from a pond along Wax Road in East Baton Rouge Parish, Central Police told WBRZ on Tuesday morning. 

The body was found floating in a pond along Wax Road near the Northwoods subdivision, Central Chief Roger Corcoran said.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is the primary agency working the case after the body was found, but Central Police and other agencies are also assisting the investigation.

Wax Road was closed in the area around 8 a.m. as crews worked the scene.
