Livingston Parish Library logged over 80,000 with summer reading program
LIVINGSTON — The Livingston Parish Library summer reading program broke its personal reading records for the second year in a row.
Participants in the program logged 81,280 books, marking the highest total in the library's 80-year history and the second straight year that readers have surpassed 80,000 books.
The program also exceeded registration and completion goals across all age groups, with approximately 1,055 books read per day and 44 books per hour through the program.
Attendance in the Summer Reading Program events and workshops also broke another system record with 38,000 attendees.
